Four Pakistani actors have been selected after auditions for the Pak-Turk joint series, Salahuddin Ayubi. The auditions were held in Lahore and Karachi in October. Six thousand candidates came for the auditions but only 62 were selected for the Islamic warrior series.
42 candidates are selected from Karachi whereas only 18 candidates were selected from Lahore. Emre Konuk, the owner of Akli Films, said that playing the character of an influential figure Salahuddin Ayubi will be a challenging task for any actor. The next round of auditions will be held in January and March 2022 in Turkey. The selected Pakistani actors are Ushna Shah, Adnan Jilani, Farhan Agha, and Ayesha Omar.
Back in August, Pakistan and Turkey have decided to jointly produce a series on revered Muslim general Salahuddin al-Ayubi.
Pakistan’s Ansari and Shah Films and Turkey’s Akli Films have signed a contract to jointly produce a TV series on the Muslim general. “A happy news on a blessed Friday night! Contract signed between Akli Films and Ansari & Shah Films about ‘Sultan Selahaddin Ayyubi’,” Emre Konuk, owner of Akli Films, tweeted.
