Since the outbreak of the pandemic Fashion, shows have really suffered a severe blow. Europe had to cancel a lot of shows in the outbreak while some were conducted online. The flaming question in this situation is about the future of fashion shows if things don’t get better? A fashion show requires an audience, a lot of social contact for the models, the makeup artists, accessories and clothes, and going forward win such a situation might call for a sanity check. French Fashion – Reviving The Dying Future of Fashion Shows.
The governing body of the French fashion industry, The Federation De La Haute Couture Et De La Mode (FHCM) have already given dates of their upcoming fashion shows that will commence in September late till October start. It has been reported that strict compliance of sops will be done as per the recommendations of the public health authorities in order to revive the dying or unstable future of fashion shows. This measure is also important for the presence of physicality of fashion shows however several eyebrows have been raised on the necessity of it!
The fashion Industry has already plummeted in the market and has become an afterthought product due to the outbreak of coronavirus. In a situation like that, it seems to be a pushy move from the fashion Industry. However, the people inside the industry are also favoring the shows to go completely digital even when the outbreak is over because of the costs a single fashion show brings with it. This is an ongoing debate since many believe that fashion is an experience and cannot present the same effect on an individual digitally.
The issue keeps lingering between both the ideologies but the point to ponder over, as a pro-fashion show designer claimed “that fashion is like a soccer game. The difference between life and watching the game on tv really doesn’t hold any equality on any medium. This is a reason why people go to the games.”
