Frontier Works Organization has cleared road from Skardu to Jaglot which was blocked due to massive landslide.
Frontier Works Organization worked tirelessly during last 24 hours
The Frontier Works Organization is working to clear the Jaglot Skardu road on an urgent basis after landslides caused blockades on the road.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also taken note of the blockade and requested FWO to open the Tormik section of the Jaglot-Skardu road on an emergency basis.
Due to landslide activity, the Juglot-Skardu Road has been subject to multiple blockades in the Roundu Valley area. In the past two weeks alone, the road has been closed for six days.
The current blockade has been in effect for three days, and though clearance efforts are underway, it is estimated that it could take up to two more days to restore traffic flow on the route.
It is important to note that the JSR road is the main artery for the transportation of fuel and edible items to the adjoining areas. Therefore, it is necessary to open the road on a priority basis. The FWO has been working tirelessly to quickly clear the road. It has already managed to successfully open one side of the Tormik section.
