A virtual pipeline to deliver imported LNG to all consumers including the private and industrial sector is planned by Gwadar GasPort Limited with an investment worth around $94.04 Million. The deliverance of the Liquified Natual Gas will be through cryogenic bowsers at competitive prices.
A senior GGPL representative said, “We hope to commission the terminal as early as October/November subject to issuance of a provisional licence from the Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) and other regulatory approvals,”
1500 Bowsers will comprise the virtual pipeline for its functioning. The project is a joint venture between Pakistan GasPort, Al-Qasim Gas and Jamshoro Joint Venture. All of these companies have applied for licensing through OGRA.
An agreement is underway for utilizing berth 3 at the Gwadar Port for import of LNG with the Gwadar International Terminals. The import will be through FSU – Floating Storage Unit with a capacity of 20,000cbm, which will deliver fuel to tankers for further distribution.
