Despite a gain in gold prices on the worldwide market, prices in the domestic market dropped.
According to figures from the All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), the price of a tola of gold decreased by Rs1,900 to Rs232,600, while the price of a gramme of 24-carat gold rose by Rs1,629 to Rs199,417.
The price of gold jumped by $3 on the international market to settle at $1,904 per ounce.
Meanwhile, the price of silver has remained stable at Rs2,800 per tola and Rs2,400.54 per 10 grammes.
