Despite an increase in gold prices on the international market, prices fell at the local level in Pakistan on Monday.
According to the All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), the price of a tola of gold climbed by Rs2,600 to Rs209,400, while the price of a gramme of 24 carat gold jumped by Rs2,229 to Rs179,527.
The price of the precious metal jumped by $1 on the international market to settle at $1,915 per ounce.
Meanwhile, the price of silver fell by Rs50 per tola and Rs42.87 per 10 gramme, respectively, to Rs2,500 per tola and Rs2,143.34 per 10 gramme.
