Despite a continued drop in global gold prices, the local market in Pakistan saw another increase in rates. On Friday, the international bullion market reported a $12 decrease in gold per ounce, bringing the global price down to $2,492.
However, in Pakistan, the price of 24-carat gold surged by Rs. 200 per tola, setting a new rate of Rs. 262,000. Similarly, the price of 10 grams increased by Rs. 172, bringing the total to Rs. 224,623.
Silver prices remained steady, with one tola priced at Rs. 2,950 and 10 grams at Rs. 2,529.14.
This rise comes despite an $8 drop in the global market the previous day when local gold rates had already climbed by Rs. 800 per tola and Rs. 686 per 10 grams.
