Gold prices in Pakistan followed a steady upward trajectory throughout 2024, closing the year at Rs. 272,600 per tola, up from Rs. 220,000 per tola at the end of 2023—a remarkable 24% increase.
The price of the precious metal reached an all-time high of Rs. 287,900 per tola in late October before stabilizing around Rs. 275,000 per tola in the final months of the year.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewelers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), there was no change in the price of gold on December 31, 2024. The price of 24-karat gold per 10 grams stood at Rs. 233,711, while 22-karat gold was priced at Rs. 214,235 per 10 grams.
On the international market, gold posted its largest annual increase since 2010, gaining 26% and closing at $2,615 per ounce. Futures traded at $2,627.30 per ounce, reflecting strong global demand for the metal amid economic uncertainties.
