Gold prices in Pakistan surged by Rs. 2,000 per tola on Friday, recovering from a significant drop the previous day.
According to the All-Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association, the price of 24-carat gold increased to Rs. 278,800 per tola, while the cost of 10 grams rose by Rs. 1,715, reaching Rs. 239,026. Additionally, the price of 22-carat gold saw an uptick, climbing to Rs. 219,107 from Rs. 217,535.
The price fluctuation follows a sharp Rs. 5,400 per tola decline on Thursday, triggered by a drop in international gold prices and a surge in demand for the US dollar following Donald Trump’s election as US president.
Globally, the price of gold rose by $21 to $2,683 per ounce, up from $2,662 on the previous day, the Association reported.
Meanwhile, the price of silver remained stable, with per tola priced at Rs. 3,300 and 10 grams at Rs. 2,829.21.
