The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has recently rolled out a user-friendly digital Power of Attorney (PoA) service to cater to the needs of overseas Pakistanis. This innovative service is specifically designed to address the challenges faced by Pakistanis residing abroad who find it difficult to physically reach the nearest Pakistani mission.
The primary goal of NADRA’s initiative is to streamline and simplify the process of granting power of attorney to individuals residing in Pakistan, providing a hassle-free and efficient experience. This service is particularly beneficial for the Pakistani diaspora holding valid National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP), Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC), or Pakistan Origin Card (POC).
The digital power of attorney application follows a straightforward six-step online process, making it accessible and convenient for overseas Pakistanis. To be eligible for this service, applicants must meet certain criteria, notably being an overseas Pakistani.
Additionally, valid identity documents, including CNIC/NICOP/POC for the executor(s), witnesses, and attorney, are crucial requirements. Applicants must also provide a valid email address, contact number, and a mailing address located outside of Pakistan.
This initiative by NADRA reflects a commitment to leveraging technology to enhance the accessibility and efficiency of essential services, catering to the unique needs of the overseas Pakistani community.
The digital Power of Attorney service marks a significant step towards simplifying legal processes for remote individuals and fostering a seamless connection between overseas Pakistanis and their homeland.
