The delegation of giant search engine Google on Monday reached Pakistan to hold talks with the Minister for I.T and Telecom, Ameenul Haque, and others.
In order to discuss the start of its activities in Pakistan, the group will also meet with the Chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the Minister of Federal Law.
Aminul Haque, the minister of information technology and telecom, vowed to make an effort to persuade the visiting group to establish a Google office in Pakistan.
He observed that social media platforms like Google, Facebook, and others are making significant amounts of revenue in Pakistan and that their opening offices there will undoubtedly help them better understand Pakistan’s culture and religious views.
It may be noted that Google has recently registered itself as a company in Pakistan.
Google introduced Career Certificates earlier in September to provide flexible learning paths for all Pakistanis, enabling learners to advance their knowledge and pick up digital skills for in-demand jobs.
In its mission to Unlock Pakistan’s Digital Potential, Google has also reinforced its commitment to enable an equitable and inclusive digital economy by offering 15,000 scholarships by this year through local partners – IRM and Ignite, comprising education institutions, industry partners and nonprofits.
