To define Pakistan’s industrial policy, the federal government established the Industry Advisory Council (IAC), which is comprised of 13 of the country’s main industrial groupings.
“Excited to announce the formation of the Industry Advisory Council, comprising 13 top groups in Pakistan,” said Dr. Gohar Ejaz, Caretaker Federal Minister for Commerce and Industries, in a post on social networking platform X on Saturday.
“Together, we will be formulating a robust industrial policy that will drive economic growth and development,” said the minister.
Dr. Ejaz expressed his excitement to be the Federal Minister of Commerce and Industry in charge of this effort. “Let’s chart a path towards a prosperous future,” he stated.
He distributed a statement from the Industries and Production Division, which stated that the division will give secretariat assistance to the committee. The committee must meet weekly and submit its final report within ten weeks.
The Minister for Industries and Production will act as the convener and chairman of the Industry Advisory Council (IAC). The Chairman/Convener has the authority to co-opt any individual from the public or private sector if deemed necessary.
