Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on January 10th (Monday) approved the decision to create a new Kohsar district containing Murree hill station and its adjoined tourism areas.
This decision by the government of Pakistan is aimed at ensuring good administration of the tourism places and avoiding any tragedies caused by climate change in the future.
According to the sources, Murree will be separated from the Rawalpindi and will be promoted to the status of a district called the Kohsar district with Kotli Sattian and adjoining tourism places.
The sources also said that the senior member of the Board of Revenue (BOR) and the commissioner at Rawalpindi have been instructed to carry out delimitation of the newly planned Kohsarr district.
Chief Minister of Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar gave instructions that Kotli Sattian and other tourism places should be merged with the new Kohsar district.
