Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif underscored the government’s focus on macro-economic reforms to stabilize the economy and attract foreign investment during a meeting with United States Ambassador Donald Blome in Islamabad today.
The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the current state of bilateral relations and emphasized the importance of maintaining positive momentum through regular dialogue mechanisms. These discussions would cover various sectors such as trade, investment, energy, health, defense, education, agriculture, and climate change. He also highlighted the role of the Special Investment Facilitation Council in expediting foreign investments in key sectors of Pakistan.
The meeting also addressed several bilateral and regional issues, including the situation in Gaza, developments in Afghanistan, and the case of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui. Ambassador Blome congratulated Prime Minister Shehbaz on his re-election and reiterated the United States’ commitment to strengthening ties with Pakistan for mutual benefit.
