Gilgit-Baltistan Minister for Food and Transport Shams Lone says Federal government has launched work of various development projects costing Rs370 billion to promote tourism and to improve infrastructure in the region.
Talking to News and Current Affairs Channel, he said Jaglot-Skardu Road Project, Astore Valley Road, road infrastructure in Diamer Chilas, Ghizer-Shandur road and Atta Abad power project are included in these mega projects.
He said Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate three mega projects during his upcoming visit of Gilgit-Baltistan.
Shams Lone said PTI-led government is taking various measures to improve the life standard of the people across the region.
He said federal government has provided eight billions rupees subsidy on different food commodities to reduce finical pressure on masses in far flung areas of Gilgit-Baltistan.
Provincial Food and Transport Minister said GB government allocated twenty five hundred million rupees to purchase more buses for Northern Area Transport Company which will help to provide better transport facilities to people in the region.
The Minister said the provincial government announced recruitment on five thousands seats in health sector to overcome health staff shortage in the region and to provide better health facilities to the masses.
He said provincial government allocated PKR800 million rupees for health sector development projects in the region of Gilgit Baltistan.
He said Food Act will introduce to improve food quality and security system in the region.
