The government would offer incentives to citizens who pay their Haj dues in US dollars.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has also set aside a special 25% quota for pilgrims who will deposit their money in US dollars.
The government is attempting to shore up its quickly depleting foreign reserves when the move is made. Pilgrims who pay their application fees and other fees in US dollars would receive a special discount.
The channel stated that pilgrims will have the option to choose the currency they desire to pay in, quoting the draught of the Haj Policy 2023. The new Haj policy will exempt those paying in dollars from voting.
