The Balochistan government has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Google that will provide 2000 additional scholarships and internship opportunities to students in the province.
The goal of this effort was to help young people find online jobs by matching them with modern-day needs. Google will also assist the provincial information agency in its digitalization.
The ceremony was attended by Balochistan Finance Minister Zamrik Khan Achakzai, Chief Secretary Abdul Aziz Aqaili, Secretary Information Technology Tayyab Lahri, Information Secretary Muhammad Hamza Shafaqat, and Google Team Leader Umar Farooq.
Chief Secretary Balochistan told journalists that the deal between the provincial government and Google was a significant development. Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo expressed a strong desire to provide dignified work for the youth.
The chief secretary stated that Google has awarded 1000 scholarships to Balochistan’s young, adding that over 900 kids had enlisted in this programme.
Meanwhile, Secretary Muhammad Hamza Shafaqat told the media that Google has awarded another 2000 scholarships, 1000 for ladies and 1,000 for boys.
He stated that interns will receive worldwide accreditation, allowing them to obtain online jobs and that interns will be able to earn up to $1,000 per month.
Earlier, in May last Google had provided 1000 scholarships to the youth of the province.
