Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif stated that coping with the flood disaster was a major issue, but that the federal government, along with the provincial governments and the NDMA, met this challenge.
On Wednesday, he spoke at a ceremony in Karachi for the distribution of house keys and ownership rights to flood victims in Sindh.
The Prime Minister also praised the efforts of the NDMA, PDMA, provincial and federal agencies, and the Sindh government in rehabilitating flood victims.
During the disaster, benefactors, he added, generously supported flood victims. He believes that building dwellings for flood victims is a positive move.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to better rebuild flood-affected communities under the Resilient Recovery, Rehabilitation, and Reconstruction Framework (4RF) on Wednesday.
Yesterday, the Prime Minister presided over the third meeting of the International Partners Support Group to examine the ongoing rehabilitation and reconstruction of flood-affected districts.
He stated that the Group meeting, which was formed following the Resilient Pakistan Conference in Geneva, was conducted to commemorate one year since the disastrous floods that took a terrible toll on Pakistan.
The Prime Minister praised the UNDP for its superb coordination and collaboration with the Pakistani government and the international community.
