Prime Minister Imran Khan says the government is focused on creating a startup-friendly ecosystem. In order to unleash the huge potential of e-commerce in the country.
He said this while chairing a meeting of Young Entrepreneurs, Startups in Islamabad today [Wednesday].
The Prime Minister said the future of business in the world is technology-driven e-commerce platforms.
The Prime Minister vowed to fully facilitate and back the young population to materialize their true growth potential. That is why the government is creating a startup-friendly ecosystem.
He directed the authorities concerned to take effective measures to address concerns of Startups relating to capital gains tax, digital signatures, and intellectual property rights and attracting foreign direct investment.
Earlier that Minister informed Prime Minister Imran Khan that:
“The e-commerce of Pakistan is growing at an unprecedented rate. Valued at 1.5 billion dollars, Pakistani startups raised an investment of 375 million dollars last year. Major startups were in the fields of E-Commerce, Fintech, Logistics, and Health Tech.”
