The Punjab government has reintroduced free WiFi services for the public in Lahore, aiming to enhance connectivity across the city.
Initially launched during the tenure of former Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the project was discontinued under the PTI government in 2021. However, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced the revival of the initiative last month, following her party’s assumption of power in the province.
Currently, the free WiFi service is accessible at 50 locations in Lahore, with plans to expand coverage to additional areas in the city. These spots include public places, educational institutions, and hospitals such as Hussain Chowk, Mozang Adda, Naqshah Stop, Kotha Pind Stop, Shadman Chowk, and MM Alam Road.
The initiative aims to provide convenient access to the internet for residents and visitors alike, fostering connectivity and facilitating communication across Lahore.
