An International Driving License is a form of identification that permits the holder to operate a private motor vehicle in any country that recognises it.
According to the Vienna Convention of 1968, the license is provided to foreign travelers from Pakistan.
Citizens of Punjab province who want to go overseas, particularly to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), can obtain an international driving license by visiting city traffic police offices or police khidmat markaz located throughout the province.

Applicants must have valid national driving licenses as well as a valid visa on their passports in order to obtain an international driving license.
Documents Required
The following documents are necessary for an International Driving Licence:
- CNIC certified copy
- Copy of a valid driving license (issued by the licensing authority) attested
- 2 certified passport-size pictures (one from the front and one from the back)
- Passport attested copy (valid for at least 6 months, with visa affixed to the country to be visited)
- Ticket of Rs.22 for court fee
- Ticket of Rs.60
- Rs. 180 on the STR form has to be deposited in the branch after passing the test.
NOTE: Please keep in mind that International Driving Licences are issued on the day the application is received. The applicant must bring their original CNIC, driver’s license, and passport.
