Zainab Abbas, a well-known Pakistani cricket presenter, is expected to appear in the ICC World Cup 2023, which begins on October 5 in India.
Zainab expressed her gratitude on X, now known as Twitter, saying she is “humbled to be presenting in India at the Cricket World Cup 2023.”
Earlier this week, the International Cricket Council (ICC) unveiled the commentary panel for the World Cup 2023 in India, which starts next month. Ramiz Raja and Waqar Younis from Pakistan are also on the panel.
“ICC.tv will cover the event with a pre-match show, innings interval programming, and a post-match wrap-up.” “The coverage will include former Australia captain Ricky Ponting and former England captain Eoin Morgan,” the ICC said in a news release.
“Other World Cup winners include Shane Watson, Lisa Sthalekar, Ramiz Raja, Ravi Shastri, Aaron Finch, Sunil Gavaskar, and Matthew Hayden.”
“Nasser Hussain, Ian Smith, and Ian Bishop, who called the memorable 2019 World Cup final between England and New Zealand, will return to the commentary box.”
“More international icons and former captains will be calling the action live from the commentary box, including Waqar Younis, Shaun Pollock, Anjum Chopra, and Michael Atherton.”
“Former international stars such as Simon Doull, Mpumelelo Mbangwa, Sanjay Manjrekar, Katey Martin, Dinesh Karthik, Dirk Nannes, Samuel Badree, Athar Ali Khan, and Russel Arnold will join in the fun.”
“The panel will be rounded off some of the leading broadcasters in the world who have had their fair share of iconic calls, including Harsha Bhogle, Kass Naidoo, Mark Nicholas, Natalie Germanos, Mark Howard, and Ian Ward.”
The ICC World Cup 2023 will be held in India, with ten nations competing for the coveted trophy over ten sites from October 5 to November 19, with the tournament opener and final held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The Cricket World Cup will be played in a round-robin format, with all countries playing 45 league matches against each other.
The top four teams will advance to the semifinals, which will take place on November 15 in Mumbai and November 16 in Kolkata. There will be reserve days for the semi-finals and final.
