Unfortunately, Hyundai has raised their prices by up to Rs830,010. This means that the Elentra 1.6, which was previously available for Rs4.341 million, is now priced at Rs5.099 million.
The Elentra 2.0 has also seen a price hike of Rs500,510, and is now available for Rs5.499 million.
As per Auto analyst Arsalan Hanif, car assemblers are increasing prices in consonance with the rupee depreciation; if they were to keep prices unchanged, it would have a detrimental effect on their earnings.
For instance, the company’s Sonata 2.0 became costlier by Rs830,010 to Rs7.899 million. Similarly, the price of Sonata 2.5 was increased from Rs7.927 million to Rs8.499 million, entailing a difference of Rs571,510.
It is important to note that last week, the prices of both the FWD and AWD versions of the Tucson were increased by Rs1.1 million by Hyundai Nishat. This makes the current prices of the FWD at Rs6.899 million and the AWD at Rs7.399 million, as per the company dealership and JS research.
