Former Pakistan pacer Muhammad Amir has spoken out about the possibility of returning to the national team.
During a media interview, Amir, a former Pakistani cricketer, announced his retirement and stated that it is now time for the future generation to grasp prospects in the sport.
“Now that I’ve retired, how can I hope to return?” I could have said that I am quite hopeful if I hadn’t retired, but I have. “Now that I’m older, there are younger players on the team,” Amir explained.
Many cricket fans around the world were taken aback when Amir announced his retirement in 2020. He chose to abandon the game that had earned him fame and notoriety at the age of 28.
That same year, he openly criticised Pakistan’s team administration, notably head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and bowling coach Waqar Younis, holding them accountable for the circumstances that led to his choice.
Amir expressed his displeasure with the team management, claiming that their actions had “harmed” his reputation.
