Pakistan’s young all-rounder, Fatima Sana, has been nominated for ICC’s player of the month award for July for her magnificent performances in the ODI series against the West Indies. Sana is joined by the West Indian duo of Stefanie Taylor and Hayley Mathews, who played a crucial part in the West Indies’ 3-2 ODI series win against Pakistan.
Sana was Pakistan’s leading wicket-taker in the five-match ODI series with 11 scalps to her name, including her first five-wicket haul in the fifth and final match of the series. Sana’s 11 wickets came at an average of 15.09 and an economy rate of 5.35.
The 19-year old is more than handy with the bat as well. She scored a brilliant cameo of 28 runs off 19 balls in the fifth ODI between the two sides as Pakistan won the match by 22 runs. Sana was named as the player of the match for her sublime all-around contribution.
