The International Cricket Council has unveiled the official ad for the ODI World Cup 2023, which will begin on October 5th in India.
The premise of the ICC’s 2-minute and 13-second video is “All it takes one day.” The movie is a breathtaking compilation of significant imagery from previous World Cup competitions, with narration by Shahrukh Khan.
The iconic wicket celebration of Pakistan’s left-arm bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi World Cup 2019 is among the shots displayed in the promo.
At the end of the video, the Bollywood actor emerges with the famous World Cup trophy, saying, “For everything ever dreamed of, pushed for, and lived for, it takes one day.”
Despite Shaheen’s involvement, Pakistani fans were not amused by the ad because Pakistan skipper Babar Azam, who is now the number one ODI batsman, was not seen in the film. Here’s how fans reacted on Twitter.
