Lahore’s Inspector General (IG) Usman Anwar has rejected the rumors circulating on social media about the closure of educational institutions, deeming them unfounded.
The IG Punjab stated that no directive has been issued to shut down schools or colleges, and there is no security threat concerning educational institutions. He emphasized that social media is being misused, and requested people not trust news shared on these platforms. Assuring the public, he confirmed that all schools and colleges remain open, with the police providing complete security.
It’s important to highlight that recently, online reports were suggesting that the government had decided to temporarily close schools and colleges nationwide for eight days, from February 4 to February 11, in preparation for the upcoming general elections.
