Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb recently engaged in talks with International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva in Washington to delve into Pakistan’s economic reform agenda.
During the meeting, held in Washington, various economic issues, policy preferences, and the reform agenda aimed at bolstering Pakistan’s economy were thoroughly discussed.
Key topics of discussion included strategies to broaden the tax base, accelerate privatization efforts, and provide necessary support to the private sector.
Minister Aurangzeb, currently in the US, is actively pursuing discussions for a new loan program with the IMF to further support Pakistan’s economic endeavors.
In a statement on Tuesday, Aurangzeb expressed gratitude for the ongoing support of the IMF and World Bank in facilitating Pakistan’s economic development.
