After a terrorism case was filed against Ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan, he sought pre-arrest bail from Islamabad High Court (IHC). He was booked under section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, which was insighted due to his remarks in a public rally, against a female judge and senior police officers.
The remarks are considered “threatening”, hence the case was filed against him on Sunday. Babar Awan and Faisal Chaudhry the lawyers of Imran Khan, filed a petition seeking pre-arrest bail on his behalf from IHC.
The statement within the petition was that Imran Khan is a “target of the ruling PDM (Pakistan Democratic Movement) for his fearless criticism and extremely bold and blunt stance against corruption and corrupt politicians”.
The government has decided to “cross all limits” as the plea further alleged, in order to arrest Imran Khan based on false accusations and was “hell-bent to sort out the petitioner and his party at all costs”.
