Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif assured International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva that Pakistan remains committed to implementing economic reforms for long-term stability.
During their meeting on the sidelines of the World Governments Summit (WGS) 2025 in Dubai, the two leaders discussed Pakistan’s ongoing IMF programme and the macroeconomic stability achieved through the government’s reform agenda.
Meanwhile, a three-member IMF mission is in Pakistan to conduct a Governance and Corruption Diagnostic Assessment under the 2024 Extended Fund Facility (EFF) programme. The delegation has already met Chief Justice Yahya Afridi.
Pakistan, currently benefiting from a $7 billion IMF facility granted in September, continues to navigate its economic recovery.
