Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has affirmed Pakistan’s commitment to accelerate existing and new projects under the transformational China-Pakistan Economic Corridor for the country’s socio-economic development.
During his telephonic talk with his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang today, he emphasized this resolve.
Shehbaz Sharif highlighted his desire to learn from the experience of Chinese authorities who have remained essential in the establishment of SEZs in their provinces while recalling Pakistan-China sister-city partnerships.
He also stated his commitment to cooperating with China with renewed zeal and enthusiasm, particularly on programs of strategic importance to both nations, such as the ML-1 project.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while emphasizing people-to-people relations, also expressed the sentiments of the families of Pakistani students who wish to return to China to resume their studies.
The Prime Minister strongly condemned the terrorist assault and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to conducting a thorough investigation, arresting the criminals, and bringing them to justice in line with our laws.
He reiterated that the safety, security, and protection of all Chinese people working in Pakistan on economic projects and institutions are of high importance to Islamabad.
Prime Minister Li was told by the Prime Minister that his government is determined to take all necessary steps to ensure their security and safety in Pakistan.
The Prime Minister expressed his appreciation to China for its unwavering support for Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national development, and reaffirmed his government’s unwavering support for China on all issues of mutual concern.
Premier Li reassured Prime Minister Khan of China’s readiness to strengthen economic ties, develop trade, and promote more Chinese investment in Pakistan.
To this end, the two sides agreed to enhance the momentum of exchanges to take bilateral cooperation to even higher levels.
