The inaugural Al Hamba Festival in Doha, Qatar celebrates the richness and diversity of Pakistani mangoes. Running from June 27 to July 6 at Souq Waqif, the event showcases popular varieties such as Sidhri, Chaunsa, Safeed Chaunsa, Anwar Ratol, and Duseri, drawing mango enthusiasts and food lovers alike.
Organized by the Embassy of Pakistan in Doha and the Celebrations Organizing Committee of the Private Engineering Office (PEO), the festival features over 43 participating companies with 100 outlets. Pakistan’s Ambassador to Qatar, Muhammad Aejaz, views the festival as an opportunity to foster cultural exchange through the shared appreciation of mangoes and Pakistani cuisine.
Alongside mangoes, the festival highlights seasonal fruits like falsa, jamun, and peaches. Local restaurants and cafés are also offering traditional Pakistani dishes and modern interpretations to showcase the country’s culinary diversity. The event aims to attract Qatari importers to place orders for mangoes and other Pakistani agricultural products such as rice and processed foods.
Exhibitors include importers, retailers, and exporters showcasing a variety of products including processed foods and dry mangoes. Participating companies include Zuhair Impex, Akin Foods, Kashan Trader’s, Friday Fresh Pvt Ltd, Naurus Pvt Ltd, Pak Khyber Traders, Aaj Enterprises, Al Hamad Agro Chemicals, and Swat International Trading Company. Major retail stores like Al Baladi Hypermarket, Marza Hypermarket, Sunder Mart, and Al Hemaliya Trading are also part of the festival.
Furthermore, the festival features Pakistani handicrafts and a special display by Desert Green Qatar, highlighting innovative agricultural practices and technologies.
