KARACHI: The cricket teams of Pakistan and India will compete against each other on August 28th in the Asia Cup tournament happening in Sri Lanka next month, as reported by various media sources. India is the defending champion of this tournament.
After receiving approval from the Indian authorities, the Sri Lankan board has given the okay for India to participate in the upcoming competition.
India, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh have already sealed their spots for the tournament, while UAE, Nepal, Oman, Hong Kong and other teams will play qualifiers, which are set to begin from August 21.
Rohit Sharma and his team will be looking to exact revenge upon Pakistan when they next meet in the T20 World Cup in 2021. The two sides last met in the tournament in 2016, where Pakistan handily defeated India by 10 wickets.
This India team will be seeking to avenge that defeat and prove their dominance over their neighbours.
