According to sources and local media on Monday, Mohsin Naqvi, the interim Chief Minister of Punjab, has assumed the role of the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee.
According to rumors, Mohsin Naqvi has also been nominated to the PCB Governing Board, replacing Zaka Ashraf’s position.
After Ashraf’s resignation, the Prime Minister of Pakistan nominated Naqvi as the Patron-in-Chief of the PCB. Additionally, the decision to conduct elections for the PCB within the next two weeks has been finalized.
Naqvi confirmed his appointment while addressing reporters shortly after the news broke. He expressed his commitment to addressing the issues affecting Pakistan cricket, emphasizing the urgent need for reforms in the sport.
The official notification for Naqvi’s appointment is expected to be issued today. Zaka Ashraf resigned from the position of Chairman of the PCB Management Committee and as a member of the Board of Governors on January 19.
