An international conference titled “International Conference on 50 Years of Vietnam-Pakistan Diplomatic Relations” was held in Hanoi.
To commemorate the end of 50 years of diplomatic relations, the conference was arranged by the Pakistani Embassy in Hanoi in partnership with the Vietnam Institute of Indian and Southwest Asian Studies.
An international conference was organized with the intention of restoring bilateral ties and igniting much-needed dialogue about the bilateral relationship between Pakistan and Vietnam’s policymakers.
Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang, a spokesperson for the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended as the main guest. She expressed her hope during her speech that the ongoing efforts from both sides will result in a strengthening of the bilateral ties.
In her opening remarks, Pakistani Ambassador Samina Mehtab gave an outline of the bilateral relations’ current state and expressed excitement for the conference’s discussions. During the Conference, there was also a cake-cutting ceremony.
The Conference was attended by over 100 delegates from various departments of both countries, members of the diplomatic corps, scholars, and businesspersons. The conference was held in a hybrid format and several participants joined via zoom.
The bilateral ties were discussed by over 20 researchers and representatives of relevant departments from Pakistan and Vietnam.
Speakers from both sides had an extensive discussion on 50 years of bilateral relations and proposed strategies to strengthen the relationship.
