The foreign ministry of Saudi expressed concerns over the “recent military escalations” in the region. The ministry showed concern over the “potential severe repercussions” after the drone strike by Iran on Israel.
“The Ministry reaffirms the Kingdom’s position that stresses the need for the (UN) Security Council to take responsibility for maintaining international peace and security, especially in this highly sensitive region for global peace and security,” the Saudi ministry added.

According to the residents in Amman, they heard and saw aerial activity over the capital. This was observed in different locations across Amman in the morning. Further, mid-air interceptions can be seen in the video received by CNN by eyewitnesses.
“At first we heard explosions in the distance. We looked outside and it was like flares in the sky, flashes. We saw something coming up and then falling,” one man in west Amman, who asked not to be named, told CNN.

Daniel Hagari, the spokesperson of Israel Defense Forces said, dozens of surface-to-surface missiles from Iran were launched towards Israel. A vast majority of the missiles were intercepted outside Israeli territory by our aerial defense systems.
Further, he said an IDF base was hit in southern Israel, resulting in mild damage to infrastructure from the few projectiles that landed within Israeli territory. More than 10 10 cruise missiles were intercepted by Israeli air force outside Israeli territory.
“Our planes are still in the air intercepting targets and we are ready for any threat that will come to Israel,” Hagari said. “We will do everything we need, everything to defend the state of Israel.”
