The military’s media wing said that an encounter with terrorists in the nation’s mountainous region abutting Afghanistan led one brigadier of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) to accept martyrdom.
According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations, Brigadier Mustafa Kamal Barki of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) was killed on Tuesday while an encounter with terrorists left seven other members injured, including two who were critically hurt.
The shootout took place in South Waziristan’s Angoor Adda neighborhood, where Brigadier Mustafa Kamal Barki ran into the militant terrorists.
According to ISPR, the late brigadier and his team gave a brave fight to the hard-core militants during the encounter and sacrificed their lives for the country.
“Defence forces of Pakistan and intelligence agencies commit to reaffirm and exhibit resolute resolve to eliminate the menace of terrorism from every square inch of the country,” the statement continued.
According to reports, the late ISI official played a key role in eliminating the militants responsible for horrific attacks in Pakistan, such as the attack on the Army Public School (APS). With the passing of Brigadier Mustafa Kamal Barki, condolences flooded in. The former prime minister and leader of the PTI expressed sorrow over the sad death.
In a terror attack in Khanewal earlier this year, two ISI personnel, including Director Naveed Sadiq Sial and Inspector Nasir Abbas, chose martyrdom.
