An Israeli strike in south Lebanon resulted in the death of Wissam al-Tawil, a senior commander in Hezbollah’s Radwan force, according to three security sources.
The attack targeted their car in the village of Majdal Selm. Al-Tawil, deputy head of a Radwan force unit, and another Hezbollah fighter were killed.
The sources expressed concern that the situation might escalate. Israel has reportedly killed over 130 Hezbollah fighters in southern Lebanon since cross-border shelling began after Hamas’s attack on Israeli territory on Oct. 7.
Hezbollah’s leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, warned against a full-scale war. In a separate incident, an Israeli drone struck a Hamas office in Beirut’s southern suburbs, resulting in six casualties, including Hamas leader Saleh al-Arouri.
