Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) secretary general Jahangir Tareen’s legal team is expected to file an application with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) today to register a new political party.
Tareen asked his political colleagues for suggestions for names for his new political party on Thursday.
According to sources acquainted with the matter, Tareen will meet with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf deserts in Lahore today, as well as former AJK prime minister Tanveer Ilyas and Pakistan Muslim League-Q president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.
According to insiders, Tareen’s legal team would apply to the ECP for the registration of the new party.
Senior politician Jahangir Tareen met with former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf provincial minister Aleem Khan a few days ago to discuss the formation of a new political alliance.
Jahangir Tareen and Aleem Khan talked about the future of the persons who quit and the formation of a new party.
According to sources, meeting attendees proposed forming a new political party rather than a pressure group since the political party would be able to stand up for people’s rights.
