Japanese Navy Ship Harusame (DD102) visits Karachi port

The Japanese Navy Ship Harusame (DD102) visited the Karachi port in order to promote professional relations between the two navies.

The Navy Ship Harusame was received by senior Pakistan Navy officials, Japanese diplomatic staff, and school students.

He said purpose of the visit was to promote professional relations between the two navies. 

At the end of the visit, joint exercises were also held between the two navies.

The spokesman said that the visit of the Japanese ship will further boost joint peace efforts in the region.

Addressing the launching ceremony, the prime minister had said relationship between Pakistan and Turkey was reaching new heights and both countries would continue to cooperate with each other in diverse fields.

He had said the MILGEM-class corvette ship PNS Badar was a sign of growing cooperation between Pakistan and Turkey. He had said it was a huge milestone towards self-dependence in the ship building industry.

Shehbaz Sharif had said that Pakistan’s relations with Turkey go back to before independence, when Muslims in the Subcontinent started a movement calling for a Caliphate in Turkey.

He had also mentioned Turkey’s role during various natural disasters in Pakistan and thanked the Turkish government and its people for their love and help.

The PM had lauded the workmanship of the engineers and workers of the Karachi shipyard. He had also thanked the Turkish defence minister for attending the ceremony with his delegation.

On the occasion of the launching ceremony for the MILGEM-class corvette ship, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that his country was ready to share its defence expertise with Pakistan.

Karachi Shipyard workers and management were present and received an appreciation amount of Rs100 million from Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Tayyip Erdogan had said that the MILGEM project was an indication of the developments to come. He had said that the most modern weapons and sensors had been used to build the vessel.

Erdogan had said that various defence industry projects would be realised one by one gradually, which would further strengthen the friendship between the two countries.
