On Friday, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul Haq Kakar met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, during which the two leaders emphasized the importance of international cooperation to stop Israel from further bloodshed.

With over 11,000 casualties since October 7, attributed to cross-border attacks by Hamas, PM Kakar conveyed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people. He vehemently condemned the indiscriminate use of force by Israeli forces, including the bombing of hospitals, refugee camps, schools, and residential buildings, resulting in the loss of numerous lives and the forced displacement of Palestinian families.

President Abbas expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s support during this challenging period and commended its principled stance on the right of self-determination for the Palestinian people. Both leaders underscored the urgent need for an unconditional ceasefire, an end to the Gaza siege, and the unhindered delivery of essential humanitarian aid and medical assistance to the affected population.

Highlighting the significance of the OIC summit, PM Kakar and President Abbas called on the global community, especially the United Nations and relevant organizations, to take decisive measures in upholding principles of justice and humanity to end the suffering of the Palestinian people.

PM Kakar reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to a just and lasting resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, based on the two-state solution. This solution aims to establish a sovereign and viable Palestinian state with Al Quds Al Sharif as its capital, along borders that existed before 1967, as outlined in various OIC resolutions.
