On Saturday, rain-battered several sections of Karachi, ushering in the second deluge season for the second day in a row.
Malir, Gulshan-e-Hadid, Kathore, Landhi, Gulistan-e-Hijri, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Shahrah-e-Faisal, DHA, Garden, Saddar, Guru Mandir, Tariq Road, Liaqatabad, University Road, Orangi Town, and Korangi had mild to intense rainfall.
When it started pouring again today, many, especially youngsters, flocked to the streets to enjoy the nice weather. However, the rain added to commuters’ woes as it piled on roadways, causing traffic bottlenecks.
Following the rain, there were power outages in several parts of the city. According to K-Electric, about 190 feeders’ power supply has been disrupted. “We are monitoring the situation and will keep you updated,” the company wrote on Twitter.
Citizens were urged to stay home and away from all-electric infrastructure, according to the electricity utility.
