According to a survey on the global cost of living, Karachi is the sixth most cheap city in the world.
The world’s largest cities had an increase in inflation last year of 8.1% on average, the highest level in the previous 20 years, according to the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).
The most affordable city in the world, according to the WCOL, is Damascus, Syria, followed by Tripoli, Libya, Tehran, Iran, Tunis, Tunisia, Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and Karachi (Pakistan).
The research claims that supply chain issues have been brought on by the war in the Ukraine, Western sanctions against Russia, and China’s zero-covid policies, while record interest rate increases in a number of nations have significantly raised the cost of living globally.
The research ranks Singapore as the most expensive country in the world, tied with New York (USA) for the eighth time in ten years. Tel Aviv (Israel), Hong Kong, Los Angeles, and Zurich (Switzerland) round out the top ten.
