Kharian-Pindi Motorway is a project to be built under a public-private partnership. This PKR 96 billion project will complete in 30 months
ECNEC today gave final approval to this Kharian-Pindi motorway. Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar informed in a tweet on Monday.
ECNEC also approved 4 road infrastructure projects in Punjab valuing PKR130 billion. This happened at a meeting in Islamabad on Monday.
ECNEC is the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council in Pakistan.
The 4 Punjab road projects also include the road infrastructure from Kamalia to Layyah via Shorkot and Chowk Azam.
Other road infrastructures include Hasilpur-Bahawalnagar. A new road from Vehari to Debalpur via Pakpattan is also one of these projects. The last road infrastructure is from Shorkot to Jhang.
The ECNEC meeting also approved the K-4 project based on a new design at a cost of PKR126 billion.
Asad Umar said 26 crore gallons of water will reach Karachi by October next year. He said the federal government has fulfilled yet another promise under Karachi’s Transformation Plan.
The ECNEC also approved a 96 billion rupees project of clean water and sanitation for the rural areas of 16 tehsils of South Punjab.
