Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan announced on Tuesday that the provincial assembly will be dissolved today.
According to information, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister issued this declaration after the cabinet meeting.
The change took place a few days after Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi approved the summary of the provincial assembly’s dissolution.
He stated that he will submit the KP governor the report for the dissolution of the provincial assembly this evening.
It was the last cabinet meeting, according to Mehmood Khan, who expressed his appreciation to all of the MPAs for their collaboration throughout the government as well as to all of the officers and ministers who contributed to the growth of the province.
Punjab Assembly Dissolved As Governor Refuses to sign summary
Earlier, the Punjab Assembly stood dissolved constitutionally as Punjab Governor Baligh ur Rehman excused himself from signing the summary, saying he could not become a part of the process.
According to the Constitution, the Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Pervaiz Elahi forwarded the summary of dissolution, and regardless of the governor’s choice, the parliament dissolves within 48 hours.
Imran Khan, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and a former prime minister, announced that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) assembly will be dissolved directly afterward the dissolution of the Punjab assembly.
