The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Elementary and Secondary Education Department (E&SED) has prohibited unvaccinated teaching and non-teaching staff members from accessing educational institutions across the province.
The news comes after it was revealed that the majority of teaching and non-teaching personnel at KP’s schools and institutions were disinterested in being vaccinated against COVID-19, putting children and their families live in danger.
Unvaccinated teaching and non-teaching personnel will not only be marked missing from work but their monthly wages will also be withheld until they get vaccinated and present their COVID-19 vaccination certificate to E&SED.
E&SED has also advised principals of all schools and colleges in the province to guarantee that all teaching and non-teaching staff members get vaccinated as soon as possible, or else action would be taken against them.
It should be noted that E&SED is KP’s largest department, with 165,000 employees accounting for over half of the provincial government’s employment.
