PESHAWAR: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) approved 17 development projects worth Rs20 billion at the province’s 18th meeting on Tuesday (K-P). PDWP members and officials from the connected departments attended the meeting, which was presided over by Additional Chief Secretary P&D Department K-P, Shahab Ali Shah. Agriculture, rural development, municipal development, board of revenue, food, health, and irrigation projects were all authorized during the meeting.
In the health sector, projects approved included the establishment of Saidu College of Dentistry at Saidu Medical College, the upgrade of five BHUs in Swat, including Guli Bagh, Fateh Pur, Chingai, Shamozai, and Kishora Malam Jabba, to RHCs, the reconstruction of Civil Hospital Manglawar, the acquisition of lands for roads in Lower Chitral and Kalash Valley, the reconstruction and beautification of the 10 km Musakhel to Rocha CAD and DAP Impact were authorized initiatives in the agriculture industry.
The meeting also approved the projects of upgrading the road from Sub-Jail Parachinar to District Jail Parachinar, securing the Khyber Spinal Route, constructing food go-downs in Bajaur, and feasibility studies, construction, and Matani Peshwar design of new tehsil complexes, Badhaber, Shah Alam, and Lower Tanawal Abbottabad.
At Governor House Peshawar on Tuesday, a special meeting of the Senate of the University of Swat was conducted, according to the Provincial Inspection Team (PIT). The Provincial Inspection Team (PIT) released an investigation report on construction and development activity at the University of Swat. The contents of the report linked to construction activity at the university were referred to the Monitoring and Evolution (M&E) Cell so that the PIT report could be re-checked and a new report could be written and submitted. The senate meeting was attended by Sharafat Ali, Acting Vice-Chancellor University of Swat Prof Dr. Hassan Sher, Secretary Higher Education Department Dawood Khan, and representatives from the Finance Department, Establishment, and Provincial Inspection Team, among others.
