In a positive development for Lahore residents, Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated a new flyover in the provincial capital. The Akbar Chowk Flyover, completed three months ahead of schedule, witnessed its opening ceremony with the presence of top government officials, including DG Lahore Development Authority Muhammad Ali Randhawa.
Originally slated for a 10-month timeline, the LDA’s efficiency allowed the completion of the project in just seven months. The initiative involved the construction of a 2.2KM flyover and 10 protected U-turns. During the inauguration, CM Naqvi highlighted that the Akbar Chowk flyover is now the longest in Lahore.
Emphasizing the significance of the project, the caretaker CM noted the establishment of a signal-free corridor between Multan Road and Ferozpur Road. He also highlighted the positive impact on resolving persistent traffic issues along College Road and PECO Road. The caretaker government intends to commence work on College Road in the near future, further contributing to the enhancement of Lahore’s infrastructure.
