The PML-N government in Punjab is gearing up to reintroduce the well-known initiative of providing laptops and iPads to students. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has instructed relevant authorities to initiate a survey of students in preparation for the scheme. The directive was issued during a high-level meeting where she also assessed the progress of the Higher Education Scholarship initiative.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Nawaz called for a comprehensive plan regarding the Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF). Emphasizing the need to evaluate the practicality of distributing iPads and laptops, she stated that the decision would be based on understanding their usage among students.
As of now, the government has not announced the official launch date for the distribution of laptops and iPads. It is anticipated that students will be required to submit online applications for the scheme. Further details about the application process and specific eligibility criteria are likely to be revealed once the government releases more information on the initiative.
