Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Parvez Elahi was rearrested shortly after the release order from the Lahore High Court in a corruption case.
On Friday, the Lahore High Court, on Friday, ordered the release of the former Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi.
Pervez Elahi, the former CM of Punjab, had been produced before the court in connection with the Assets Beyond Means case.
During the hearing, Justice Amjad Rafiq presided and subsequently ordered the release of the Ex-CM Punjab, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi.
This development comes in response to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arresting Elahi due to his alleged failure to provide information to the accountability bureau in relation to the Assets Beyond Means case, which also involves his son, Monis Elahi, and other family members.
Moreover, NAB sources have disclosed that an inquiry has been initiated against Moonis Elahi in connection with the excessive assets case. A team from NAB’s Lahore chapter transported former CM Pervaiz Elahi from Adiala Jail to appear before the session court in Rawalpindi for transit remand.
